Some can be. To a doctor and their job's point of view, maybe not, but to some people, they can be like a badge of honor.

These ones, not so much. Win some, lose some. Though I can tell people I'll been attacked by a vampire and didn't get murdered. There's something normal people will spit-take at.

The first time I saw Obi-Wan he was falling off a building. So I did not have much issue with any inherent awe the man might bring.

We are hoping to avoid the birth of a Sith Lord, yes. Without Palpatine, it is unlikely that Anakin will fall. He has Obi-Wan and Luke, and the support of those he has befriended in the village.

He slowly attempts to slink up to his feet, easily slipping the IV drip from his arm before putting out a hand to take the bottles.]
